Observatories of Uncharted Vitreous, Installation Detail; Wright State University – 2011

We are excited to announce that Paul Catanese, hybrid media artist, Associate Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Arts at Columbia College Chicago and President of the New Media Caucus, a College Art Association Affiliate Society, will visit SCAP for a project planning session this October.

While in residence, Catanese will give a public lecture about his works which take on many forms: virtual, physical, and combinations of both. He will be presenting several bodies of work including installation, printmaking, hand paper-making w/electronic inclusions, and site-specific projects, as well as a number of electronic media artworks for modified Nintendo Gameboy Advance and experimental pieces for the iPad. Catanese will also be addressing his recently published book: Post-Digital Printmaking: CNC, Traditional, and Hybrid Techniques, which establishes Post-Digital Printmaking as a distinct area of printmaking practice both technically and conceptually.
